Purpose
Signal Guardian helps people understand their potential digital exposure by analyzing data exports they already own. It is an informational tool.
Informational nature
Reports, scores, recommendations, and monitoring insights are estimates. They are designed to support awareness and decision-making — not as certifications, audits, or guarantees.
User responsibility
You choose which exports to upload, review any export before sharing it externally, and remain responsible for the decisions you make based on the report.
No guarantee
Signal Guardian does not guarantee complete discovery of your digital footprint, privacy or anonymity, legal/regulatory/financial compliance, cybersecurity outcomes, or that every recommended action will succeed on every platform.
Acceptable use
Use the app for your own data, or data you are legally entitled to analyze. Do not analyze data belonging to other people without their consent.
No malicious uploads
Do not upload malware, exploits, files designed to attack the parser or other users, content illegal to possess in your jurisdiction, or data obtained through unauthorized access. Bypassing size, rate, or safety limits is prohibited.
Platform limitations
The app supports Google Takeout, Meta DYI, and Amazon Order History. Parsers are best-effort and may not cover every file variant.
Export responsibility
When you download a JSON or PDF report, that file leaves the app's privacy boundary. Treat it like a personal document — the app cannot recall or revoke exported files.
Intellectual property
The app's source code is licensed under its repository's stated license. Your uploaded data belongs to you. Generated reports about your data belong to you.
Service availability
The app may be unavailable due to maintenance or outage. The frontend degrades gracefully into a demo mode when the backend is unreachable.
Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Signal Guardian and its maintainers are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the app — including missed exposures, incorrect estimates, third-party actions taken in response to a report, or loss of exported files.
Changes
These terms may be updated. Significant changes will be reflected in the document's Last updated date and surfaced in-app where appropriate.
Signal Guardian provides informational privacy analysis based on user-provided data. It is not legal advice, cybersecurity certification, financial advice, forensic verification, or a guarantee of privacy protection.
